BGE Workers Vote In Favor Of The IBEW

Local 410 Created

With the resignation of John Coleman, a vacancy opened up for a full-time Business Representative at Local 1900. President/Business Manager Jim Griffin has appointed Jerry Williford to fill that vacancy.

Jerry is a 30 year Pepco employee holding several positions in his career. He spent the last 17 years in the Consolidated Control Center as a Complaint Dispatcher A. Jerry is an Officer of the Local on the Executive Board and a Chief Steward. In addition, he was appointed this year to serve as a Delegate for Local 1900 on the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO.

Please give Jerry your support as he takes on a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of Local 1900.

For the 3rd time in as many years an Employee Posting from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is posted at Pepco facilities. This time the postings are at Edison Place, Forestville Service Center and the Consolidated Control Center. The posting will also be emailed by Pepco to our members at those locations.

These postings are a result of charges Local 1900 brought due to Pepco’s actions against Stewards while they were representing our members. All Local 1900 Pepco Stewards and Chief Stewards have been notified of this NLRB posting along with an explanation of the events leading up to the charges.

Local 1900 will not tolerate our Stewards and Chief Stewards being harassed, coerced, or threatened because they are representing you over possible discipline or contract violations
