Gatherings of more than 10 people have been banned in D. C., Maryland and Virginia due to the COVID-19 virus.
Current IBEW policy allows for videoconferencing of meetings but they must be held at a central location and satellite locations, not individuals logging into a video presentation at home.
The IBEW has recognized the need to address current health concerns and the banning of gatherings of more than 10 people. To that end, the IBEW has given the International Vice Presidents the authority to approve requests from Local Unions to cancel membership meetings on a month-by-month basis.
Local 1900 requested that its April 2020 membership meetings be cancelled. Our International Vice President approved that request.
